Fire Plow
In the Southeastern US in particular, many state forestry departments are equipped with fleets of crawler dozers outfitted with both a towing winch and a fireplow as one of their main firefighting vehicles. The fireplow is used to clear the ground of flammable material to create a firebreak. The winch is used to move downed trees and to allow the crawler to work on steep hillsides. A reliable Allied winch behind the vehicle gives the operator the confidence needed to take on a life-threatening task, knowing that they can get out of a problem area quickly and predictably.
