The W400 winch, originally from Clark and later from Lufkin, has been part of the Allied winch offering since 2000. Significant improvements to the design since 2000 have made what many consider the best skidder winch ever developed even better. The freespool clutch is based on powershift technology, which allows the winch to shift into and out of freespool on the fly and under load, which permits major gains in skidding productivity compared to a dental clutch design.
