Hooking the Big One

Goober Drilling in Oklahoma has had some strange jobs in its time. This one is a little different. A culvert pipe washed out and moved downstream during some flooding. Goober fished it out and got it onto a truck to take it “home.” This is no small pipe. It’s 10 ft in diameter, 70 ft long, and weighs about 60,000 lbs. It took two John Deere 750C crawlers with Allied W6G winches to land this beauty.

Our thanks to Clifton Kolb of Goober Drilling for the photos.

Do you have interesting photos of Allied winches at work? Please send them to us and we’ll be happy to consider them for our next issue.
