Hydraulic Winch Q & A

Q: In your winch spec sheets I see the LANTEC 200, 201 and 202, also the 540 , 541 and 542. What's the difference between the 200 and 201, for example?
A: The simple answer is "gear ratio." The LANTEC 200, 540 and 750 winches use the lowest gear ratios in the primary reduction. The 201, 541 and 751 have a slightly higher ratio. The 202, 542 and 752 winches have the highest ratios of the three. Slower gear ratio gives slower drum revolution but higher drum torque, allowing for higher line pulls.

Q: I need a winch with a piston motor. Can I order a LANTEC winch without your motor and put on my own?
A: Yes. The standard motor is the Commercial Intertech WM76-3 gear motor. But you can order the winch less motor, and simply specify the type of motor mount you want. You currently have the choice of SAE B, C and D mounts.

Q: How soon can I get a LANTEC winch? What's your delivery time?
A: Currently, delivery time is running right at six weeks. Our goal is to reduce that time to under three weeks. We are currently at two weeks delivery with our dozer winches, and there is no reason we can't meet that target on LANTEC winches within a short time.
