Hustling Those Parts To Your Door

When you order parts, you generally want them NOW. You know how hard we work to get them packed and ready to ship. But there's still that time delay from our dock to yours. To get the most timely deliveries at the best rates, it is important to understand how freight companies handle your packages.

In the United States, a frequent choice is UPS. They offer everything from Next Day Air service (UPS RED) to ground transport. While most shipments arrive according to the predicted schedule, bad weather, equipment breakdowns, and ordinary human error can all conspire to delay delivery.

For ground shipments, transit time depends primarily on distance. For UPS ground shipments from Allied Systems, check the map (or go to UPS Ground Time-in-Transit Maps and type in "97140" in the zip code box) to determine transit time to your location. Keep in mind that normal transit time is calculated by "business days," which excludes holidays. Weekends too are normally not considered transit days, however some carriers like UPS and FedEx do provide Saturday delivery to some locations for an extra fee. So, for a UPS ground shipment from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine departing on June 1, 2000, expect delivery on or about June 9, 2000.

For Canadian and overseas air shipments, Allied's Service Parts Department has negotiated favorable rates with several major air carriers such as DHL, FedEx, BaxGlobal and Danzas. Requesting "Air Best" on your purchase order will allow ASC to select the fastest and most economical routing for your international order. Remember that customs clearance may delay shipments from one to five days.
