No matter the state of the world forestry business, it seems that the Canadian market tends to maintain a fairly steady course. This year is no different. Our Canadian Ranger dealers are full of enthusiasm for the Ranger line, and are putting out the effort to promote the product. Take a look at the fine work done by two of our dealers in Western Canada at recent forestry shows.
In May, Jade Equipment, from Edmonton, Alberta, mounted an impressive display at the 2001 North Alberta Forestry Show. Held this year in Grand Prairie, this show is billed as the largest annual forestry show in Western Canada. Attendance remained strong, with all the major players exhibiting.
Jade featured the H67 dual-arch grapple skidder. Their exhibit attempted to re-create a natural forest setting. The result was a real crowd-pleaser, with lots of traffic at the exhibit. Hats off to Randy Sturko, Jade's Sales Manager, for taking charge of the show and putting together a first-class display.

In August, Redhead Equipment upped the ante a little further with an award-winning exhibit at the Saskatchewan Forest Expo, held this year in Prince Albert. Redhead teamed up with Wheatland Tire/All Terrain Industrial Parts to jointly show off the Ranger H67 equipped with Wheatland's Nokian forestry tires. They pulled out all the stops, and walked away with "best exhibit in show" honors.
No wonder. The exhibit featured the Ranger H67 dual-arch grapple skidder in a re-creation of a Saskatchewan forestry setting, complete with boulders, pond and fallen trees. Wheatland owner Maurice Bompais and four of his staff worked two long days to prepare their work of art.
The Ranger was specially modified for the show. Working with Wheatland, Redhead equipped the Ranger with dual Nokian 30.5 X 32 tires all around. Wheatland also fabricated the special adapter used to convert to duals.
This show rotates each year between Swan River, Manitoba and Prince Albert. About 6,000 visitors attended this show, and went away with a new appreciation for the power and capability of the Ranger skidder.
Our thanks to Gary Redhead, owner of Redhead Equipment, for taking the lead in making this exhibit such a success.
Editor's Note: Dual tires offer exceptional flotation. Please get Allied's approval before mounting any dual-tire set-up, to assure correct configuration.
