LANTEC Winch Manufacturing Off to Strong Start

Allied's hydraulic winches are subjected to the same stringent quality control guidelines as used with their dozer winches.

Since Allied signed the licensing agreement with LANTEC at the end of 2000, there has been great progress in integrating the LANTEC winch into the existing Allied winch manufacturing system. Allied is in full swing, manufacturing the LANTEC winches. The first winch shipments have reached the market to great dealer acceptance.

Because Allied has had many years of building gears and shaft for the thousands of bulldozer winches operating worldwide, incorporating the LANTEC winch products have been fairly straight-forward and smooth.

Responsive delivery time is one of the thrusts Allied is striving for. As a result, Allied has made significant investment into building the necessary component inventory to provide short lead time to dealers. Currently, the average lead time is 6 weeks. Allied intends to shorten it in the coming months to under three weeks. Allied is also building some popular winch configurations for immediate delivery out of its stock.

All hydraulic winch castings will bear the "Allied" name.

Allied is adopting the same tight quality control procedures on LANTEC winches as those used on dozer winches supplied to Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Dressta, New Holland and J.I. Case. The initial production test results confirmed that the Allied-manufactured LANTEC winches are meeting the same high quality standards as our dozer winches.

As with our dozer winches, we purchase castings from quality foundries. Castings now appear with the Allied name on them. All machining of castings is done at Allied so that Allied can exercise direct quality control.

Internal components such as gears, hubs and shafts are all machined at Allied to the same high tolerances found in the dozer winches. These winches are noted for quiet operation and long life.

Prior to delivery, each winch is tested thoroughly to ensure proper operation. Careful pressure tests ensure that each winch meets the tough quality control standards that have made the name Allied synonymous with quality over the years.

Allied is actively producing a complete component inventory to ensure exceptionally short lead times for the hydraulic winch.
