On Saturday, September 30th, the Canadian Coast Guard had an incident that caused a stoppage in operation of a constant tension winch for the Allied Systems model D6700CT aboard the ship Sir Wilfrid Laurier. The vessel's chief engineer contacted the Allied Systems service department via e-mail, inquiring about a parts replacement. Service Manager Adam Quint responded immediately to the request, advising them against purchasing parts and troubleshooting the problem over the phone. His advice solved the issue with the Constant Tension winch safely, while saving the CCG time and money on costly repairs and allowing their operations to be back up and running while still at sea. Said the chief engineer of his experience, "Thank you very much for the great service...very much appreciated when we are out here at sea bouncing around...the fact that I know I can count on this type of service goes a long way for customer service." |
