The Ranger F68 skidder still has more horsepower than any other skidder in the world. That's why it's a popular choice in the tropical hardwood forests, where the size of the logs is huge--sometimes up to 2 meters in diameter. Some of these logs weigh up to 15 tons.
With cable skidding, the logs tend to strike the rear fenders. The fenders are thick steel, but with these heavy logs, they have taken a beating in the past. To help them take the punishment, we now have reinforced the fenders on F68.

The main change is to add additional gussets inside the fender. These gussets reduce the tendency of the fender to bend inward toward the tires.
This is just another example of how we listen to our dealers, and make the changes that help you to be more competitive.
